Savannah-based mutual aid focusing on financial relief for residents’ bail, legal + immigration fees, as well as promoting education and visibility in the Southeast.
We can uplift the livelihood of Black people, Indigenous people, and People of Color in our communities through mutual aid, which includes wealth redistribution and paying reparations.
Mutual aid is a mindset that encourages us to take care of and be responsible for one another. Mutual aid means we will protect our communities in ways society can’t (and won’t).
Mutual aid is not an act of charity—it works to build new systems of support by redistributing wealth, resources, and power into the hands of the people who deserve to be centered in our communal growth.
Mutual aid groups are non-hierarchal, meaning they are group-led and support power-shared leadership. The term “mutual aid” was coined by an anarchist in 1902 but has been used by underrepresented communities throughout the world since.
We were formed in July 2020 out of an immediate need for bail support after the nationwide George Floyd protests that also took place here in Savannah, GA. Since our group’s inception, we’ve redistributed over $22,000 for housing and bail support in Chatham County.

What We Believe
Savannah deserves non-carceral, community-based, and local-led support.
The redistribution of wealth, including reparations for Black and Indigenous people, is part of restoring equity to our communities.
People should be able to respond to their oppression however they want to without being shamed.
Food and housing are a human right.
Harm reduction and preventative education keep our communities safer.
Where Our Funds Go:
Paying bail, legal, and immigration fees.
Paying for PPE, personal hygiene supplies, and non-perishables for mutual aid outreach.
Contributing towards Black, Indigenous, and Person of Color-led mutual aid in Savannah.
